One more to go…

So, here we are. It’s my last official winter break as a college student. I feel like too many of my conversations nowadays involve the word “last.” I’m not sure how I feel about this. Even still, I’ve managed to create an ever present reminder of my impending graduation. In the form of a Mac OSX dashboard widget –

So, I’ve finished the first semester of my senior year and I’m officially the recipient of a New Media Certificate. One more semester to go.

Hopefully now that I’m not stressed with finals, projects, presentations, and other end of the semester nonsense I will have a lot more time to dedicate to my blog. (10 days since my last post? I can do better.) I’m planning on doing a lot of relaxing and catching up on some of my pleasure reading over the break. Right now, I’m about to start reading Socialnomics by Erik Qualman. You may recognize the author as being the man behind the popular YouTube video Social Media Revolution. I think I’ll post a book review in a blog post as soon as I finish.

Blogging Resolution

I’ve never been a blogger. I’ve made Tumblr and Blogspot accounts and never updated them. I’ve contributed to others’ blogs, but never maintained one of my own. However, I thought it was time for a website overhaul, and I’ve recently become impressed with the capabilities of WordPress and decided to use it as the platform for my new site.

So, here we are. I have a new site, and with that comes the necessity for me to maintain a blog on a somewhat-regular basis. I’m making a resolution to myself to keep up with this thing. Maybe the fact that it is attached to my professional website will be enough motivation for me.

Potential topics to include: technology, social media, advertising, and the inevitable post about the job search of a soon-to-be graduate. Here we go.
